Made in Ireland
This glass is made by pressing and cutting molten glass. The colours are produced with powders including bronze and gold.
The ability to make glass was discovered in prehistoric times and it has made a great contribution to jewellery making. Faience beads were made over 3000 years ago in Ireland and Britain and show links with Central Europe and Egypt. By the 15th century art glass had developed in Murano, Venice. Clear and coloured glass is often layered with real gold and silver leaf and metallic powders to give a stunning effect
